It’s a big week at the Brooklyn Museum.
October
The leaves are changing, and so are our galleries! This week, we welcome five groundbreaking exhibitions to the Museum. It’s a season of firsts.
Art of Manga is the first major exhibition in the Americas to explore manga—Japanese comics and graphic novels—as an art form.

Hopi Kachina Dolls: Blessings for a Balanced World is the first exhibition to examine the kachina doll tradition from the perspective of the dolls’ primary recipients: Hopi girls and women. We’re marking the opening with a celebratory daylong convening.
Also on view: Cézanne to Modigliani: Gifts of Modern Art from the Pearlman Collection and Manga Before Manga: Japanese Art from the Collection. Be first in line for all these awe-inspiring exhibitions.

Drawing America
From Pride to Election Day 2026, the Brooklyn Museum marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with Drawing America: US@250, a season of art installations and programs.
Performance: What Season Is It, America?
Wednesday–Sunday, October 21–25, 11 am–5 pm
As part of Drawing America, sit down with artist Keith Yamashita to consider the state of the United States. A poet, photographer, and social-practice artist, Yamashita asks, “What season is it, America?” For five days this October, he and sound artist Joshua-Michéle Ross will be in residence at the Brooklyn Museum, inviting you to consider your answer to that question.
Free with Museum admission.
